These team-building exercises are perfect for any "TEAM" workplace, organization or sports team, and are perfect for any age!

A team that works well together is more effective, more productive, and more successful — not to mention happier and more fun to work with! But team building at work can be tricky, especially when typical team building activities tend to induce more eye rolls among teammates than high-fives. Whether you were hired to put together some team building initiatives or you think your team just needs to get together and do something fun, workplace team building activities are the way to go.

This is a wonderful icebreaker for corporate teams, sport teams and relationship building for the beginning or ending of the year celebrations. Mix and mingle as we play, paint and develop new relationships and bonds. Inquire about the workshops!

For: Communication Skills

Instructions: Split your group into pairs and have each pair sit back to back. One person gets a picture of a shape or simple image, and the other gets a piece of paper and pen. The person holding the picture gives verbal instructions to their partner on how to draw the shape or image they’ve been given (without simply telling them what the shape or image is). After a set amount of time, have each set of partners compare their images and see which team drew the most accurate replica.

For: Communication Skills

Instructions: This activity is fun, excellent for energizing your time, and also great as a quick icebreaker exercise. It is simple to set up and suitable for a wide team size of 10-40 people (ideally an even number). As a facilitator, think of pairs of things such as, salt and pepper, yin and yang, shadow and light, peanut butter and jelly, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, male and female, and so forth. Write each item on a piece of paper (i.e. salt on one paper, and pepper on another), and tape one paper on the back of each person, making sure they can’t see the word. When the game starts, everyone must walk around asking yes or no questions in order to find out what word they have taped to their backs. Once they figure that out, they need to find their other half of the pair. Learning how to ask the right questions is key. (Optional: The two will then sit down and learn three to five interesting facts about one another).

For: Communication Skills

Instructions: Each team will have 4 members. You will be given a baggie of Legos. Decide your order (1,2,3,4) within your team. One member will come up at a time to look at the sculpture for 10 seconds and try to memorize it before returning to their team. After you return to your team, you have 30 seconds to instruct your team how to build an exact replica without touching it, just by using your words. Then the next member of the team will have a chance to go up and so on. After all members have had a turn, notify Cara and she will bring the original sculpture over for comparison of your accuracy.
